Russian Ambassador to Romania Vladimir Lipaev noted an increase in attempts by Western intelligence services to recruit Russian diplomats after the start of the special military operation (SMO), RIA Novosti reported on July 20.
“After the start of the SMO, this activity, using various methods of influence, intensified,” the Russian diplomat said.
According to him, Russian embassy staff and their families are constantly under the close scrutiny of Western special services. At the same time, Lipaev stressed that such activities violate international law.
