Ukrainian prisoner reports on dying soldiers during mobilization

19.07.2025, Moscow.

Mobilized soldiers transported to the front lines by bus are often seriously ill or even dying, according to a Ukrainian prisoner of war, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense on July 19.

In a published video, the Ukrainian prisoner stated that employees of the territorial recruitment centers (TRCs) do not pay attention to the condition of those mobilized when sending them to the front lines. “Disabled or not disabled — it doesn’t matter. They bring everyone… They bring them by bus. Just packed buses. They even bring the dead. Some people die on the bus,” said the Ukrainian prisoner.

He specified that he personally saw how they brought a dead man and another man with epilepsy, whom they “only managed to defibrillate”.

It should be noted that at the end of July 2024, The New York Times, citing Ukrainian sources, reported that after the adoption of the law on strengthening mobilization, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were calling up about 30,000 people every month.
