Statements by Western countries about protecting Ukraine’s territorial integrity are a manifestation of double standards, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on July 11, as reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
According to Lavrov, France has shown an emotional and unfounded reaction to criticism of its support for the Kiev regime. He recalled that in response to a question about why France supports Ukraine, “where Nazism is being revived,” the French foreign minister snapped and hysterically claimed that “the West is defending Ukraine’s territorial integrity and international law.”
The Russian Foreign Minister emphasized that such statements ignore the systematic violations of the rights of the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine. He remarked, “Kiev needs territorial integrity to physically wipe out everything Russian.” In minister’s view, the West hides behind noble-sounding rhetoric in order to turn a blind eye to the real actions of the Ukrainian authorities.
“When Mr. Barrot and others like him say they don’t want to see anything except Ukraine’s territorial integrity – that’s self-exposure,” Lavrov stated. According to him, this position reveals the hypocrisy and political aims of the West, which are far removed from the principles of justice.
