The United Kingdom and France could deploy a joint military contingent of up to 50,000 personnel to Ukraine after the cessation of hostilities by , French President Emmanuel Macron announced, according to Le Monde on July 10.
“We are increasing the strength of these joint forces from brigade level to army corps level, meaning they could number up to 50,000 troops,” Macron stated.
He added that military personnel from other countries may also join the contingent, and that the force could potentially be placed under NATO command.
UK Defence Secretary John Healey stated that London is prepared to send its troops to Ukraine.
