The Kyiv regime possesses a system for the mass production of chemical warfare agents and has begun using them against Russia, stated Russia’s Permanent Representative to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and Ambassador to the Netherlands, Vladimir Tarabrin, on July 10 during the 109th session of the OPCW Executive Council in The Hague, according to RIA Novosti.
“The Russian side continues to record not only instances of Ukraine using toxic chemicals and chemical warfare agents but also the existence of an extensive system for their mass production in Ukraine,” Tarabrin said.
The Russian OPCW representative added that Moscow has officially appealed to the organization with a request to send experts to Russia to provide technical assistance in verifying the facts regarding Kiev’s use of chemical weapons.
On July 8, CIA Director John Ratcliffe stated that US President Donald Trump would be presented with evidence concerning the use of chemical weapons in Ukraine. The intelligence chief noted that such use is illegal and violates international law, but emphasized the importance of documenting the facts.
In August 2024, Russian forces discovered a Ukrainian armed units cache containing toxic substances prepared for use. It included a compound based on thallium nitrate.
