A new aid fund for Kyiv, named Equity, amounting to €10 billion, will be established by European Union countries, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced on July 10, according to La Repubblica.
She made the statement in Rome during a conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine. Following Meloni’s meeting with the leader of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, it was reported that European companies had signed around 200 agreements with Kiev.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen noted that the new agreements will promote private sector investment. She stated that this will be crucial for Ukraine’s reconstruction.
European Council President António Costa emphasized that Brussels will encourage EU countries to increase investments in Ukraine through relevant programs.
The conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine is taking place in Rome on July 10–11. Speakers already include Friedrich Merz of Germany, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
