Despite external challenges, trade between Russia and China has remained resilient and continues to grow, stated Chinese Ambassador Zhang Hanhui on the sidelines of the ninth Russia-China EXPO in Yekaterinburg, RIA Novosti wrote on July 8.

According to the ambassador, in 2024 bilateral trade between Moscow and Beijing is demonstrating stability and, despite increased external pressure, continues to develop.

“Since the beginning of this year, China-Russia trade has faced more complex external factors and pressure. But thanks to the joint efforts of both sides, bilateral trade overall remains stable, and its quality continues to improve,” said Zhang Hanhui.

He added that Moscow and Beijing intend to further strengthen coordination and unlock the potential of mutually beneficial cooperation to ensure continued growth. Statistics from China’s General Administration of Customs confirm the positive trend: in 2024, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to 250 billion dollars.

Speaking in Yekaterinburg, the ambassador emphasized that the Chinese side sees the Russia-China exhibition as an important mechanism for deepening trade ties. The ninth exhibition is being held from July 7 to 10, 2025, bringing together representatives of the business communities of both countries.
