The US can only get involved in a land war against Iran if it has gone insane, political scientist Sergey Kurginyan wrote in his article Iran-Israel War published in issue 636 of the Essence of Time newspaper.
According to the philosopher, the US army’s interference with the Israel adventure will definitely change the balance in the region, because the US population is several folds greater than that of Iran, and its technological supremacy is more serious.
“However, the US can only get involved in a land adventure if it has gone absolutely insane,” the leader of the Essence of Time movement believes.
In his article, the political scientist also considers a hypothetic situation in which the US becomes illogical enough to begin a land operation. The expert reminded that Iraq, where the US army invaded previously, was much weaker than Iran. Even despite collusion with the Iraqi military, the US fled this Middle Eastern country. No bombing helped the Pentagon to occupy Iraq entirely. A similar situation, according to the expert, took place in Afghanistan.
“Clinton promised he would bomb Serbia into dark ages. And some part of the Serbs were scared. But Afghanistan could not be bombed into dark ages because it was already there! The US invaded. And eventually it fled away with shame,” Sergey Kurginyan explained.
Speaking about what stake the US elites can make in the Iran-Israel conflict, the expert concludes that this can be Iran’s pro-Western rural population. But this stake is strongly undermined by Israel, which has been consistently destroying the Iranian top officials with whom the US could have a deal.
