Turkey and Belgium joined the “drone coalition” for Ukraine, the Latvian Ministry of Defense press service srared on July 2.
The coalition now includes 20 countries: Latvia, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Australia, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Estonia, Italy, New Zealand, Canada, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Turkey, Germany, and Sweden.
Altogether, the member countries have pledged €2.75 billion in support for Ukraine this year. Approximately €180 million of that will go into a UK-led fund for centralized drone procurement.
The “drone coalition” is an international alliance aimed at providing Ukraine with UAVs, electronic warfare (EW) and counter-EW systems, and technologies to enhance its offensive capabilities in the war against Russia. The coalition was formed under the Ukraine Defense Contact Group and the NATO-Ukraine Council in February 2024.
