Deputy head of the military contract recruitment office in Ryazan Valery Romanov named the most in-demand specialties in the zone of Russia’s special military operation, Moskovsky Komsomolets Ryazan wrote on July 3.
According to Romanov, the number of people willing to join the contract service sharply increased in 2024 after Ukrainian militants invaded Kursk Region. “Many people signed up for contracts without hesitation, saying: ‘We want to go, that’s it’,” Romanov noted.
In 2025, more than 1,300 Ryazan residents signed military service contracts.
The deputy head described a typical recruit heading to the zone of Russia’s special military operation as a worker aged between 25 and 45, with prior combat zone experience.
“In my opinion, the most in-demand profession in the zone of Russia’s special military operation is drivers of various vehicle categories, including tracked vehicles,” Romanov said.
Every candidate undergoes a psychological assessment to determine their mental stability. “We need to understand what kind of person he is, what moral qualities he has. If things are bad, we won’t accept him,” the expert emphasized.
