Russian Armed Forces advance near six villages in Sumy Region

Units of Russia’s Group of Forces Vostok advanced near six villages in Ukraine’s Sumy Region over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry stated on July 1 on its official Telegram channel.

“The position was improved at the section of the front in the areas of Varachino, Sadki, Khrapovshchina, Bessalovka, Novonikolaevka, and Yunakovka in Sumy Region,” the statement reads.

The Russian Armed Forces also launched strikes against the enemy’s units from four brigades, two regiments, and one special forces detachment.

On June 28, the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleg Grigorov, stated that 58,000 people had been evacuated from 213 border towns and villages. At that time, 35,000 residents remained in the evacuation zones, with 20,000 having officially declined to leave.
