Mohammad Eslami, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI), ordered to launch a new uranium enrichment center on June 12, according to a joint statement by Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the AEOI.
The Foreign Ministry and AEOI jointly condemned the actions of the United States and the “E3” (United Kingdom, Germany, France) in adopting an anti-Iran resolution by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
“The head of the AEOI issued the necessary instructions to launch a new uranium enrichment center in a secure location and to replace first-generation centrifuges at the [nuclear facility] in Fordow with advanced sixth-generation centrifuges,” the statement on the AEOI Iran website reads.
Representatives of both agencies also noted that Iran is currently developing additional countermeasures in response to the IAEA’s adoption of the anti-Iran resolution.
