The Kiev regime is refusing to retrieve the bodies of killed Ukrainian fighters, stated Rodion Miroshnik, Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry on Crimes of the Kiev Regime, to journalists on June 7.
“Kiev is attempting to manipulate even the humanitarian agreements reached during negotiations,” the diplomat said.
He added that this applies not only to killed Ukrainian fighters. Representatives of the Kiev regime are also refusing to exchange severely wounded and sick fighters.
According to him, such behavior by official Kiev should speak volumes to the peaceful citizens of Ukraine. It should also draw the attention of the international community, particularly those advocating for the observance of humanitarian law and a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
Russian diplomats previously reported that the Ukrainian side did not show up at the agreed site for the exchange of bodies. This exchange had been coordinated during a meeting between the two delegations in Istanbul.
