The railway section between Vygonichi and Pilshino in Russia’s Bryansk Region, where an explosion caused a road bridge to collapse, was reopened for train traffic, Russian Railways (RZD) informed on June 2.
“The Vygonichi–Pilshino section in Bryansk Region was reopened for train service. Railway workers completed all clearing and infrastructure restoration work at the site of the bridge collapse at 09:52 (p.m.) on June 1,” the RZD press service stated.
According to a company representative, it took less than a day to restore train traffic after the bridge collapse.
On May 31, a bridge collapsed onto passenger train No. 86 traveling from Klimovo to Moscow. Seven people were killed, and 104 were hospitalized.
