A massive drone attack by Ukrainian militants led to an emergency power outage in over 450 villages and towns across Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions, stated Zaporozhye Region Governor Yevgeny Balitsky on June 3 on his Telegram channel.

According to Balitsky, power was temporarily cut in 457 villages and towns in Zaporozhye Regions, leaving more than 600,000 people without electricity.

He clarified that fires at energy infrastructure sites were quickly extinguished, and utility crews are already working on restoration. Critical infrastructure, essential services, and water supply systems have been switched to backup power sources. Balitsky emphasized that the region has the necessary resources and personnel to address the situation.

The governor also urged residents to remain calm and rely on official information sources.

Additionally, Kherson Region’s military-civilian administration head Vladimir Saldo reported that a Ukrainian drone strike damaged an electrical substation in the Genichesk district. This caused power disruptions in 150 villages and towns across the Genichesk, Novotroitsk, Ivanovka, and Nyzhny Serogoz districts.
