Russia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to UN: Kiev’s long-range missile production supported by Germany will escalate conflict

31.05.2025, New York.

The launch of long-range missile production in Ukraine, supported by Germany, will lead to an escalation of the conflict by Berlin, stated Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, on May 31 in comments to RT.

According to the Russian diplomat, Germany’s support for Ukraine’s development of long-range weaponry is an unacceptable provocation. In his statement, he emphasized that Russian diplomats reminded the German authorities of certain pages from recent history — 80 years ago — about the outcome of the previous anti-Russian, anti-Soviet venture undertaken by the regime in Berlin.

Polyansky warned that such actions could have consequences not only for Germany but for all of Europe. He expressed the view that this policy will lead to a result that will be extremely regrettable for the European Union and Germany itself.

Earlier, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced his intention to support Ukraine in developing its own long-range weapons. Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov described such statements as incitement to war.
