Exchanges between Russian regions and Chinese provinces continue to grow rapidly, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on May 19 in a welcoming address to participants of the plenary session at the “Russia–China: Uniting Efforts for Shared Prosperity” forum.
“There is a rapid increase in exchanges between Russian regions and Chinese provinces, which is contributing to the emergence of numerous new promising projects,” the minister emphasized.
Lavrov noted that the comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction between Russia and China have reached their highest level in the history of bilateral relations. He described them as a model of equal and mutually beneficial cooperation in the 21st century. Cross-border and interregional ties, he added, are an essential component of this relationship.
The Russia-China forum is taking place in Khabarovsk on May 19–20 under the motto “Bolshoy Ussuriysky: Cooperation in the Joint Development of the Island.”
