The Group of Forces Vostok liberated the village of Bogatyr in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Russian Ministry of Defense said on May 18.
“As a result of active and decisive actions by units of the Group of Forces Vostok, the village of Bogatyr in the Donetsk People’s Republic was liberated,” the statement reads.
Bogatyr is located in the South Donetsk direction. On May 17, videos surfaced on social media showing Russian flags being raised in various parts of the village. The liberation of Bogatyr paves the way for an assault on Alekseyevka from the south and east, approaching from the direction of Andreyevka.
