The European Union and Great Britain are working on variants of “replicating” the scenario realized in Ukraine in other countries through inciting nationalism, Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergey Naryshkin said at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of the CIS countries in Dushanbe on May 16.
“The main focus is on targeted work with social groups vulnerable to indoctrination. We are talking primarily about ethnic and confessional minorities, women and young people. In particular, we are working on the options for putting the odious Ukrainian scenario on the stream,” the SVR director said.
At the same time, Naryshkin explained that in these countries “narrowminded local nationalism” will be fomented, explaining it by promoting the strengthening of national identity. Later, on the basis of the realized plans, they will stimulate a socio-political split.
“There are reports of stable contacts between Europeans and nationalist parties and movements in the CIS space,” Naryshkin added.
