Russia will offer Serbia different NPP construction projects

14.05.2025, Serbia.

The state corporation Rosatom is ready to offer Serbian authorities projects for the construction of small and large capacity nuclear power plants, the director of the company’s representative office in Serbia, Marija Deuric, said at the international scientific forum “Energy Transition of the Western Balkans” in Belgrade on May 14.

Rosatom is ready to offer Serbian partners the whole range of solutions: from low-power nuclear power plants based on RITM-200 reactors to high-capacity power units of generation 3+,” Deuric said.

According to the representative of the state corporation, Rosatom sees that Serbia is interested in diversifying the country’s energy balance by switching to “reliable, efficient” nuclear energy.

Earlier, Rosatom director Alexey Likhachev, after Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Moscow during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, said that the parties had reached an agreement on the possible construction of nuclear power plants in Serbia.
