Donald Trump needs any quick result of the Ukraine talks, but no actual agreements are feasible, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on April 26 on the Right to Know program on channel TVC.
“Trump’s first hundred days were far from perfect. Those who say it was his triumph are people who want to prove that our talks with Trump are absolutely effective, that we will come to an agreement with Trump, and that everything will be fine. But this will not happen!” Sergey Kurginyan said.
He explained that he has no negative attitude to the way that the talks between Russia and the US are held. In contrast, they are held perfectly. According to him, Russia’s primary goal in this process is to avoid a position of a cannibal.
“Look at Trump! How he cries for Russian and Ukrainian lives! He is just crying away about how many people are killed. This is a cheap opera! Is this a representative of the country that has hardly ever cried for any lives in Hiroshima, Nagasaki, or elsewhere? Is this a representative of the country that is ready to shed blood, and which is based on this readiness deep inside? How he cries! What is the problem? ‘I am crying, but you reject my disgusting conditions. Who are you? You are a cannibal!’”
The political scientist stressed that diplomats answer such attacks the following way, “Yes, we agree. But there are a number of concerns.” Thus, Russia drags out the talks, while Trump needs to achieve a quick result. Trump deliberately appointed Steven Witkoff as his special envoy for the talks, who says himself that he is not a professional, not a diplomat.
“This is exactly what Trump needs, do you understand? And he is right, because as soon as he appoints a professional diplomat like Kellogg etc. it will be forever. A professional diplomat, firstly, just likes to drag things out, and secondly, this is his professional occupation, whatever it ends with. And this is what he will be doing. But Trump needs an absolute outsider, a hooligan, who will have a chance to achieve some sort of a result,” Sergey Kurginyan noted, and he stressed that Trump “will prefer any stupid result rather than no result”.
This is the reason, the political scientist believes, why Trump “appoints an outsider who must say, ‘I love you all! It is all so good!’ Then they tell him, ‘And we love you, too.’ – ‘Okay, so we have a deal!’ – ‘No, there are some concerns.’”
According to him, this is how the Russian diplomats every time pass the ball to the direction they need: we do not quarrel with the US, we love them, we value Trump, we feel a sort of moderate and restrained excitement from his efforts, we are perfectly complementary. He explained that Vladimir Zelensky, in contrast, acts in all the contrary way: we provokes Trump and his team all the time, because he understands that if he fails to do so he will disappoint his masters and the groups that help him remain at power.
