The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea will unhesitatingly assist Russia if it is attacked by the “lackeys of the United States,” stated North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in a message published on May 10 by the Korean Central Telegraph Agency.

He visited the Russian Embassy in Pyongyang to congratulate the country on the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The head of state expressed his deepest respect for the generation of victors, extended best wishes to the people of Russia, and promised assistance if needed.

“If the lackeys of the US and the West, with their cheap, defective weapons, do not abandon their dangerous thoughts of military aggression against our brotherly state — the Russian Federation — and attack again, then I will gladly, in accordance with the articles and spirit of the Korea-Russia treaty, unhesitatingly issue an order to use the armed forces of the DPRK to repel the enemy’s military aggression,” the message from the North Korean leader reads.

Kim Jong-un emphasized that aggression by the “Ukrainian puppets” against nuclear-armed Russia must not go unanswered, or they may take even more reckless actions. In addition, he warned that the “number one US henchman,” South Korea, might also undertake insane measures.

The North Korean leader also described it as a sacred duty for Koreans to assist their brotherly country and wartime comrade.
