Sergey Kurginyan discusses Trump’s global ambitions

A number of pressing issues regarding the figure of US President Donald Trump and his role in global political processes were raised by political scientist, philosopher, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on April 18 on the Conversation with a Sage program on the Zvezda radio channel.

“Why Trump? What is he supposed to push through?” the political scientist posed questions.

According to him, US policy can be aimed at promoting a specifically interpreted Christian conservative ideology on the global stage.

“How can one establish a universal dominance of this specifically interpreted Christian conservatism in India or China? It has to be established all over the world. It is stated quite clearly: ‘We must prepare the Earth for the Second Coming. We will prepare it’,” said Sergey Kurginyan.

The analyst notes that in order to implement this ambitious plan, “the USA must be cleansed”, and it is impossible to achieve this within the framework of democratic processes.

The political scientist emphasizes that Trump, being a rather charming person, is very much alive, but an unpredictable force.

So, in the meantime, he [Trump] is rejoicing, and it is clear that he is, in certain sense, a very likable person, in some sense, but any lively person is in principle likable. While Biden [Joe Biden, the previous US president – Rossa Primavera News Agency] was dead inside, this one is alive. He rejoices openly. He says: Look what tariffs I imposed, how I banged it all out, pardon me this expression. And then everyone rushed to kiss my ass’. He is extremely pleased,” Kurginyan explained.

In this context of unpredictability, the analyst compared Donald Trump to a character from Bertolt Brecht’s play Fear and Misery of the Third Reich, “Look at the way the Führer prepares one of coupes. Like trying to see through a brick wall. No way of telling beforehand. For all I know he can’t even tell himself. And then – wham! – like that.” Sergey Kurginyan compared Trump to a “buffalo” that attacks this “rotten world.”

“So, he [Donald Trump – Rossa Primavera News Agency] himself [does not] know what he will do next. He is like a buffalo, attacking the rotten world. When the world is rotten, then your sympathies are on the side of the buffalo. But then one understands that this is a buffalo,” the political scientist explained.

However, according to Sergey Kurginyan, it is important to remember that there is someone behind this buffalo: “And then, who is letting him out? Does this buffalo have a master or not?!”

This metaphor shows that one needs to understand the deep structures of power and interests behind Trump’s actions. The question of who is managing this process becomes central to the analysis of his policy.

Under the guise of Trumpism, do they need to push through everything that the Democratic Party couldnt? Then, what is it? How should this unfold further?” the analyst asked.

Kurginyan also touched upon the topic of religious influence in the US and other countries. According to him, this is about creating a new apostolate with the subsequent global expansion.

And after having established this, then start promoting it throughout the world! Does this remind you of anything? Building socialism in a single country – building a new apostolate in a single country with subsequent expansion on the global level,” the analyst explains.

We are dealing with this kind of a situation if nothing fails, otherwise those who expect this from the ‘Grand Inquisitor’ project will say, Well, you rebelled with this strange guy; thought you were free, wanted your “great again,” some values.’ So what, learned your lesson? First a recession, then a decline in production, right? He speaks everywhere of peace, but there will be wars. It is clear that all this has completely failed. How far has it failed?” Sergey Kurginyan asked.

The political scientist also raised the question of possible catastrophes that could happen by the end of Trump’s second presidential term. According to him, the world may face new challenges, much more serious than humanity has ever seen.
