Ukrainian FPV drone strike on market in Alyoshki causes civilian casualties

01.05.2025, Alyoshki.

A multi-wave attack by Ukrainian FPV drones on the market in Alyoshki, Kherson Region, resulted in civilian casualties, Deputy Chairman of the Kherson Regional Government Sergey Cherevko said on May 1, according to RIA Novosti.

According to the regional official, at least four assault waves targeted Alyoshki’s market, involving around 30 strike drones. After the initial strikes, which had already resulted in deaths and injuries, the Ukrainian militants launched additional drones to strike the survivors.

“Not for a second did any paramedic crew hesitate about whether to respond. Not a single driver refused — even under threat of being hit by drones or cluster munitions,” the official emphasized.

The head of the region stated that at least seven people were killed in the attack, and more than 20 were wounded. Later, according to updated information, 11 injured individuals were taken to the hospital — one died on his way to hospital, and another passed away later.

Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the incident as another bloody war crime by the Ukrainian militants, carried out deliberately on a public holiday. The ministry declared that all those involved will be held accountable and placed responsibility on the countries supplying Ukraine with weapons and funding.
