NATO forces are conducting exercises that include rehearsals for the seizure of the Kaliningrad Region, Russian Presidential Aide and Head of the Maritime Board Nikolai Patrushev stated on April 29, according to TASS.

He noted that for the second consecutive year, NATO is carrying out its largest exercises in recent times near Russia’s borders. These drills reportedly include various scenarios, among them the “seizure of the Kaliningrad Region.”

Patrushev added that NATO forces are also training to deliver preemptive strikes on the permanent bases of Russia’s nuclear deterrent forces.

He said NATO is practicing offensive operations across territories from Vilnius to Odessa, as well as measures to restrict the movement of ships in the Baltic and Black Seas. Patrushev further stated that Russia faces threats from UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

Meanwhile, he pointed out that the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom is significantly worn out.

In 2024, NATO conducted the Steadfast Defender 2024 exercises in Eastern Europe, which lasted four months and involved approximately 90,000 military personnel.
