There are several fundamental disagreements between India and the US that could affect their future cooperation, political scientist, philosopher, and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on April 4 on the Conversation with a Sage program on the Zvezda radio channel.
Kurginyan noted that the strategy for developing the so-called “Quadrilateral Security Dialogue” between Australia, India, the US, and Japan on security issues in the Indo-Pacific region (Quad group of nations) is becoming increasingly ambitious.
“Indians, with phenomenal grace and arrogance, say: let’s do everything very beautifully… We will accept some other countries into this QUAD, it will become QUAD plus. Israel… someone else. Let’s consider the whole Global Southeast, with Indonesia, with the Philippines,” Kurginyan said, commenting on India’s plans.
However, according to the analyst, the US strategy in this regard includes efforts aimed at using India as a counterweight to Russia. However, Indians perceive the US attempts to impose their will as something demeaning.
According to the political scientist, one of the key issues between India and the US is the internal arrogance of the Indian elites and “the clear understanding of the Brahmanic side that they are superior.”
“And these dumb, excuse me, white-faced beasts, who recently crawled out of the caves, are trying to demean it [Indian elite]. That will never happen again. This is an absolute consensus in Indian politics,” Kurginyan explained.
Kurginyan also touched on the topic of defense procurement, noting that India is ready to purchase weapons from both the US and Russia. The matter of the “green” economy is equally important topic.
“There is nothing that India resents more than the ‘green’ economy, because it would stop its development,” Kurginyan noted.
This could become a serious obstacle to development for a country with high emissions, the political scientist explained. India is striving for a post-industrial economy and does not want to sacrifice its growth for the sake of global environmental standards.
“India has very high emissions and so on, it cannot be otherwise, because it is getting out of this lag in development. It is already creating centers of a post-industrial economy and everything else, but for India this is a serious issue. In the meantime, the US is forcing this issue and it creates a huge resentment in response,” Kurginyan emphasized.
In addition, the political scientist pointed out the differences in values between the two countries. While the US Democrats had various perversions that they imposed on the whole world, under Donald Trump, it came to economic pressure and tariffs.
In addition, according to the analyst, Indians don’t like the fact that the US fosters opposition movements. Thus, Indian-US relations remain in a state of constant controversy, Kurginyan concluded.
