21.04.2025, Kursk.

Servicemen of the 22nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 44th Army Corps of the Group of Forces Sever  are engaged in combat near the village of Gornal in the Kursk Region, the regiment’s reconnaissance head with call sign “Lavina” said in a comment to RIA Novosti on April 21.

According to him, one of the Russian units advanced near and began clearing the forest belt. Currently, efforts are underway to suppress enemy firing positions.

“This will allow other groups from different directions to continue assault operations directly within the village,” said the Russian army officer.

The village of Gornal remains the only villaget in Kursk Region occupied by Ukrainian militants.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian armed units lost over 70,000 personnel during combat operations in the Kursk Region. It is also noted that these were the most well-trained and motivated units of the Ukrainian army and foreign mercenaries.
