Putin calls the strike on Sumy retribution for the war crimes of the Ukrainian militants in Kursk Region

Russian President Vladimir Putin called the strike on Sumy called retribution for the war crimes of the Ukrainian militants in Kursk Region on April 21 during a press briefing following the “Service” award ceremony.

He noted that the Kiev regime constantly uses civilian facilities for military purposes.

As an example, he cited the congress center of Sumy University. Ukraine accused Russia of striking a civilian facility after a missile hit it.

“But that was where an award ceremony was held for those who committed crimes in Kursk region, including Ukrainian armed units and nationalists,” Putin stated.

He emphasized that Ukrainian war criminals received just retribution for their atrocities in the border region, including Kursk Region.

The politician declared that the strike was carried out to punish the militants of the Kiev regime.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the facility in Sumy hosted a “gathering” of Ukrainian and NATO military personnel.
