Discussions on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine between Russia and the United States are difficult, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has told reporters on 18 April.
“Russia seeks to settle this conflict, to ensure its own interests and is open for dialog. We continue this dialog,” Peskov noted.
The politician emphasized that the Ukrainian conflict is not an easy topic.
Regular talks between the Russian Federation and the United States were held in Istanbul on April 10. The parties discussed the restoration of full-fledged work of diplomatic missions, limited in recent years due to Washington’s actions.
On April 11, Putin held a meeting with the special envoy of the US President Stephen Whitkoff in St. Petersburg. The topic of the meeting was aspects of the Ukrainian settlement.
