An attack by Ukrainian drones on the Kavkazskaya oil pumping station will affect the financial performance of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), despite the fact that the station is not legally part of it, the company’s press service said on March 18.
According to the company, the damage to the facility made it difficult to carry out scheduled work, which led to a decrease in CPC’s revenues and, consequently, in dividends to its shareholders, which include US companies.
“Kavkazskaya” is used to transfer oil from railroad tank cars to the connecting pipeline leading to the “Kropotkinskaya” pumping station, which is part of the CPC’s infrastructure.
The Defense Ministry said that an attack by three Ukrainian drones on an energy infrastructure facility in the village of Kavkazskaya resulted in a 3,750-square-meter fire due to depressurization of an oil tank.
The raid came hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with US President Donald Trump, during which the two sides agreed to temporarily halt attacks on energy infrastructure.
Subsequently, Russian air defense forces shot down seven of its own drones that were on their way to strike targets in Ukraine’s Nikolaev region.
