Iran admits possibility of talks on military nuclear program

11.03.2025, Tehran.

The military aspects of Iran’s nuclear program can be discussed, but the elimination of the peaceful use of nuclear technology is not on the table, stated the Iranian Foreign Ministry, as reported by the press service of Iran’s mission to the UN on March 9.

“If the goal of the negotiations is to address concerns related to the potential militarization of Iran’s nuclear program, then the discussion of such issues can be considered,” TASS quoted the statement as saying.

Regarding the peaceful program, the Foreign Ministry emphasized that negotiations aimed at eliminating Iran’s peaceful nuclear program “will never take place.”

On March 7, Al-Jazeera wrote that US President Donald Trump wrote a letter to Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei proposing talks on Tehran’s nuclear program, but the letter had not yet been sent.

Khamenei rejected the possibility of such negotiations. On March 9, Trump told Fox News that time is running out for a nuclear deal with Iran.
