A draft law on military registration of young men from the age of 14 has been prepared by the Verkhovnaya Rada of Ukraine, RIA Novosti reported on March 5.
“We plan to change the process of collecting data on young Ukrainian guys so that they can become registered for military service from the age of 14,” MP Maxim Savrasov said.
According to Savrasov, educational institutions that have medical data on the health status of schoolchildren will be obliged to help put them on the military register.
Retired Ukrainian Lieutenant-General Igor Romanenko said that the age of mobilization should be lowered and all men between the ages of 18 and 60 should be drafted into military service.
