If the United States chooses the path of war with China, be it tariff, trade or other, the PRC is ready to resist to the end, the press service of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the United States said on March 5.
The embassy said that if Washington really wanted to solve the drug problem, the right thing to do would be to arrange an equal dialog with China.
“If war is what the United States wants, whether it is tariff war, trade war or any other war, then we are ready to stand to the end,” the press office emphasized.
Since March 4, the United States has imposed an additional 10 percent duty on all goods made in China. Washington justifies its actions by the fact that Beijing supposedly takes insufficient measures to counter the smuggling of synthetic drugs into the United States.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said it is better to return to the path of dialog and cooperation to solve the problem. China, meanwhile, has imposed retaliatory duties on goods from the US and filed a lawsuit at the WTO.
