The settlement of Novaya Sorochina and a number of others have been liberated by Russian troops driving the enemy out of Kursk Region, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a weekly summary on February 28.
“During the week, units of the North force grouping continued to destroy Ukrainian formations on the territory of the Kursk region. In the course of offensive actions, the settlements of Pogrebki, Orlovka, Nikolsky and Novaya Sorochina were liberated,” the report said.
The Defense Ministry said that in the Kursk direction during the week Russian soldiers defeated the tank, heavy mechanized, seven mechanized, motorized infantry, assault, five airborne assault brigades, three assault regiments of the Ukrainian troops, a brigade of marines and four territorial defense brigades. Both enemy manpower and military equipment were affected.
Kiev regime units invaded the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. After the advance of the first days, Russian troops stopped the offensive, and with tough battles are forcing the enemy out of their territory.
