Obstacles to the restoration of the dialog between Russia and the United States will be imposed by some ill-wishers who dream of undermining this dialog, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with TV host Pavel Zarubin on February 19.
“Obviously, there will be some people in the world who will not like the normalization of the dialogue between Russia and the United States. And, obviously, these ‘some people’ will do something to undermine this dialog,” Peskov noted.
The spokesman explained that all who are interested in such a dialog “need to be on their guard.”
On February 19, US President Donald Trump said that unlike the Biden administration under his watch, the White House was “successfully negotiating the end of the conflict with Russia,” while the previous president’s team made no efforts to resolve the situation.
Earlier, the US president’s special envoy for Russia and Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, said that the USA could agree to the results of any peace talks only if Russia makes territorial concessions. At the same time, the US representative did not specify which territories he had in mind, but added that he expected Moscow to “refuse to use force” in the future.
