The Americans will increase their military contingent in Poland because of Ukraine’s uncertain borders, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth said at a joint press conference with Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz on February 14.
Hegseth said that currently there are already about eight thousand US military personnel in Poland. Now the issue of increasing the military contingent is being resolved.
He also thanked the Polish leadership for supporting the US military deployed in Poland, calling Poland “an exemplary partner”. At the same time, Hegseth called on the countries of Europe to take an example from Poland, its policies in the defense sphere.
We note a certain discrepancy. So, Germany is sure that US Vice President J.D. Vance at the Munich Security Conference, which started today, may announce the withdrawal of US troops from Europe. It is also assumed that this duty will be placed on the shoulders of European countries.
