Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has called on all leftist and progressive nations in Latin America to unite in response to actions taken by right-wing forces, TeleSUR wrote on January 27.
Maduro emphasized the necessity for leftist movements to come together for the common future of the continent. He urged countries to develop joint strategies, invest mutually, and engage in active trade. He also advocated for integration in cultural, educational, scientific, maritime, and land-based sectors.
The Venezuelan president stated that Brazil should rise as a great superpower of justice and freedom. Regarding diplomatic ties with Brazil, Maduro highlighted that Venezuela and Brazil have no crisis in their relationship, nor have they ever had one. He explained that differences only exist at the ministerial level between the two countries’ foreign affairs departments.
Maduro insisted that both nations must recognize the new global geopolitical scenario and turn a new page in their relationship. “It is the duty of President Lula and President Nicolás Maduro to understand each other for the sake of our countries,” he said.
