The Group of Forces Tsentr of the Russian Armed Forces liberated the village of Shevchenko in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) as of January 11, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
“Through decisive actions, units of the ‘Group of Forces Tsentr have liberated the village of Shevchenko in the DPR,” the military agency stated in its report.
In the course of operations, the Group of Forces Tsentr also defeated four Ukrainian brigades near Alekseyevka, Belitskoye, Grishino, and Sibirskoye.
Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces reportedly lost: a German Leopard tank, four armored vehicles, five artillery pieces, three automobiles, and over 500 militants.
On January 6, the Russian Armed Forces liberated the city of Kurakhovo in southwestern Donbass. During that operation, the Ukrainian side reportedly suffered over 80% personnel losses and lost more than 3,000 pieces of military equipment, including 40 tanks.
