Kurginyan: Russia must do everything to prevent a conflict with Turkey

11.01.2025, Moscow.

It is important to prevent a military conflict between Russia and Turkey “with any acceptable maneuvers by the Turkish side”, political scientist, philosopher, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan emphasized on December 7 on the Right to Know program on the TVC TV channel.

The political scientist noted that in the current international situation, it is existentially important for Russia not to enter into a confrontation with Turkey, despite possible provocations.

In the near future, Russia must do everything to avoid entering into a conflict with any acceptable maneuvers by the Turkish side. Everything!” said Sergey Kurginyan.

The political scientist did not rule out that future events may develop differently, but the current situation “should not be determined by the Armenian card.

When the situation changes, whether there will be a new Myasnikyan [Alexander Myasnikyan – Chairman of the Council of People’s Commissars of Armenia from 1921 to 1922 – Rossa Primavera News Agency’s note] or something else this is a another issue, but this will come later,” Sergey Kurginyan said.

The current moment requires maximum attention and restraint from Russian diplomacy, given the complex geopolitical situation and external threats, including pressure from NATO.

Right now, our entire diplomacy which somehow balances in such a way that Turkey cannot be dragged [into conflict] against Russia very strongly, is objectively right. Russia cannot handle two conflicts at the same time in its current. This is a matter of life and death,” said the leader of the Essence of Time movement.

The political scientist pointed to the threats that could arise if relations between the countries worsen. According to him, if Turkey and other countries, such as Japan, are drawn into the conflict, this will require a radical restructuring of Russian statehood.

If only they get involved. Thanks to NATO! It is great that they are the members. If by chance some changes occur, and the Turks and Japanese, who, as you, will find themselves increasingly out of it, only the deepest restructuring of our entire state existence can save the Russians from existential death,” said Sergey Kurginyan.

Sergey Kurginyan also noted the importance of focusing on current military successes, “We are following liberations of every village by Russin heroic armed forces with absolute and extreme historical attention.
