The Baryer system, designed to combat FPV drones and disrupt the enemy’s artillery reconnaissance system, successfully completed testing and is already being deployed in the zone of Russia’s special military operation, announced Igor Potapov, the official representative of NPP enterprise, on December 30, as reported by TASS.
According to Potapov, the Baryer is now in use within the zone of Russia’s special military operation.
Potapov highlighted that the weight of the Baryer does not exceed 20 kg, which is crucial for “trench electronic warfare (EW) equipment.”
He explained that on the frontline, “a soldier cannot have equipment consisting of three or four boxes, each weighing 20 kg.” “We need to move towards countering FPV drones and make the product line lighter and more compact,” the specialist added.
He noted that “the enemy’s tactics allow for adjustment by dividing frequency bands into more compact products.”
Additionally, the Baryer is intended to be used together with the compact EW tool Skovorodka, which “fits in a backpack and effectively counteracts commercial drones like DJI,” Potapov emphasized.
