Kremlin: Putin holds talks with Slovakia’s Prime Minister about the progress of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined his vision regarding the progress of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine to Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico during talks in the Kremlin, Russian president’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov told to journalists on December 23.

“President Putin conveyed to his interlocutor his vision regarding the current situation on the battlefield and the progress of the special military operation that Russia is conducting in Ukraine, Peskov said.

According to the Kremlin Press Secretary, Putin and Fico also discussed the situation in bilateral relations, which suffered significantly from the actions of the previous Slovak authorities, Peskov emphasized.

On December 22, the Kremlin reported that Vladimir Putin had met with Robert Fico. Dmitry Peskov clarified that the conversation between the leaders of the two countries was confidential.

On December 21, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that he learned about the visit of the Slovakian Prime Minister to Moscow through unofficial channels. According to the Serbian leader, Fico’s visit to Russia is due to the fact that the contract for the transit of Russian natural gas through Ukraine expires on January 1, 2025.
