16.12.2024, Tehran.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commenced the construction of ships designed to launch guided missiles, announced the commander of the IRGC Navy, Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri on December 15, as reported by IRNA.

Rear Admiral Tangsiri made this statement during a ceremony in Bushehr, located in southern Iran.

He highlighted that the construction will include 67-meter ships made from soft alloys.

“Only a few countries have the capability to build such ships. Additionally, we have established knowledge-based companies and are collaborating with 103 knowledge-based institutes and 32 universities,” Tangsiri stated.

According to him, these measures are being taken in response to clear recognition of threats from the enemy and the need to prepare for confrontation. In this context, scientific research in military technology is crucial and must be continued.

“As a force that relies on advanced equipment and operates based on technical expertise, the IRGC Navy must adhere to research and scientific principles,” added the Rear Admiral.
