A massive combined strike on Ukraine’s energy facilities was carried out in response to the Ukrainian attack on Taganrog with ATACMS missiles, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on December 13.
The ministry recalled that on December 11 from the territory of Ukraine “a missile strike was carried out by six US-made ATACMS operational-tactical missiles on a military airfield near the city of Taganrog.”
The Russian air force strike on Ukrainian territory on the morning of December 13 was in response to this Ukrainian attack, the Defense Ministry stressed.
“In response to the use of American long-range weapons, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a massive strike with long-range air- and sea-based precision weapons of destruction and strike drones on critical facilities of Ukraine’s fuel and energy infrastructure, which supplies the military-industrial complex with electricity,” the Russian defense ministry said.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, all the the targets and facilities have been hit.
Earlier on December 12, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov warned that Russia would respond to Ukraine’s attack with long-range ATACMS missiles on the airfield in Taganrog. “I would like to recall the absolutely unambiguous and direct statement of the Russian Defense Ministry yesterday, which clearly said that a response will follow,” he said.
