Russia seeks not an ceasefire, but peace, which will come after Moscow’s conditions are met, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on December 13.
This was his response to a question whether peace talks on Ukraine could begin after a possible Christmas truce.
According to him, Russia remains open to negotiations on Ukraine. He called the Istanbul agreements of 2022 the basis for possible negotiations, but there are no prerequisites for them because of Kiev’s position.
