Israeli actions in Syria, particularly in the Golan Heights region, hardly contribute to the stabilization of the situation, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on December 11.
Journalists asked Peskov about the Kremlin’s attitude to the actions carried out by Israel in Syria.
“Certainly, the strikes, actions in the area of the Golan Heights, in the buffer zone, so to speak, they hardly contribute to the stabilization of the situation in the already destabilized Syria,” the presidential spokesman replied.
Israel brought troops to the Syrian part of the Golan Heights. The Israeli authorities explain it by the need to create a buffer zone.
On December 10, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved strikes on military facilities that the Syrian army left. He noted that this decision was taken to prevent these military facilities from falling into the hands of jihadists.
