More than 300,000 servicemen were trained in reserve regiments in 2024 for participation in the special military operation aimed at the denazification of Ukraine, announced Colonel General Ivan Buvaltsev, head of the Main Directorate of Combat Training of the Russian Armed Forces, in an article published on December 2 in the newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda.

Buvaltsev noted that during the special operation, the Russian Armed Forces have accumulated unique experience in conducting modern combat operations. According to the general, the organization of combat training in 2024 was carried out based on a thorough study of the combat experience gained.

“The established training system has proven its effectiveness. Significant successes have been achieved in the reserve regiments. It is there that servicemen who voluntarily signed contracts to participate in the special military operation are trained. For this purpose, seven instructor companies and eight specialist training companies have been formed, which have trained over 300,000 servicemen,” Buvaltsev reported.

He added that during the training process, focused attention is given to the individual preparation of servicemen. They acquire knowledge and develop skills in fire training, tactical training, engineering training, tactical medicine, and special training depending on their military specialty. After the stage of individual preparation, exercises are conducted to master tactics within combat elements and small tactical groups — combat pairs, triples, and quintets.
