Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova: The West distorts information about Russia’s use of the ‘Oreshnik’ system

27.11.2024, Moscow.

Distorted information about Russia’s use of Oreshnik systems is being propagated in the West, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in an interview with Radio Sputnik on November 27.

Zakharova noted that someone perceived the use of Oreshnik as ‘a moment of absolute panic.’

And someone decided to distort information once again, to say that Russia is not doing this in order to show that nothing of the West’s stated aims will work with us,’ Zakharova said. She specified that the West is trying to present the case in such a way ‘that we are supposedly threatening, proactively pursuing some aggressive course’.

On 19 and 21 November, the Kiev regime used US ATACMS missiles and British Storm Shadow missiles in attacking the Kursk and Bryansk regions.

On November 21, in response to Ukraine’s strikes against Russia with long-range Western weapons, the Russian Armed Forces struck Ukraine’s defence-industrial complex with a new weapon – the hypersonic Oreshnik missile.
