Hamas responds to Lebanon-Israel agreement

27.11.2024, Palestine.

Hamas supported a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, said Hamas politburo member Bassem Naim, Repubblica reported on November 27.

Hamas ‘does not feel betrayed’ by Hezbollah, Naim told the newspaper.

Our goal was not that Netanyahu would destroy Lebanon,’ he noted.

On November 27, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the country’s political-military cabinet had approved a ceasefire agreement with Lebanon.

Netanyahu addressed the nation and said that in case of any violation of the truce, Israel would resume hostilities.

He indicated that the truce will help the country to focus on the Iranian threat.

Also, on November 27, AFP published a report from an unnamed source about Hamas’ readiness for a ceasefire and hostage exchange agreement.
