Russian FSB Chief: Anglo-Saxons push Ukraine toward escalation and nuclear terrorism

26.11.2024, Moscow.

The Anglo-Saxons, as represented by the US and the UK, are covertly pushing Ukraine towards nuclear terrorism and the escalation of the conflict, Russian Federal Security Service’s (FSB) Director Aleksandr Bortnikov told journalists on November 26.

“Through their efforts, Ukraine has been turned into a testing ground for methods that undermine the security not only of Russia but the entire post-Soviet space,” the FSB head said. “The Anglo-Saxons are covertly urging Kyiv towards dangerous escalation: conducting acts of nuclear terrorism.”

Bortnikov noted that Western politicians aim to turn the post-Soviet space into a “cheap resource base” and to sow discord among the region’s countries.

Previously, the FSB Chief stated that NATO is actively infiltrating the Arctic and Baltic regions and seeking access to the Caspian Sea. Bortnikov also mentioned that the military threat from the North Atlantic alliance is “steadily growing.”
