The United Kingdom plays a key role in the anti-Russian hybrid war, stated Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on November 23 on her Telegram channel.
To support her claims, Zakharova posted a video clip from the September meeting between UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and US President Joe Biden at the White House. She reminded that Biden thanked Starmer for London’s leading role in aiding Ukraine in the conflict.
“Now, some experts, including domestic ones, suggest that the UK is not significantly involved in the anti-Russian hybrid war. These statements are not just laughable but dangerous,” the diplomat emphasized.
“The core of Russophobia is precisely concentrated within the folds of the shriveled British Empire. And for those who ‘do not notice’ this, there are questions,” concluded Zakharova.
On November 21, The Hill reported that the US Congress, ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration, is actively working on amendments to the bill on assistance to Ukraine to ensure that the new president cannot overturn them. The amendments do not introduce new measures for helping Ukraine but require the US president to submit budget requests to Congress for the funds needed to fulfill the law’s provisions on aiding Ukraine.
On November 21, Maria Zakharova also stated that European Union countries have initiated a hybrid war against Russia to cover up their own shortcomings.
